MISSION STATEMENT

WHY WE EXIST

“To strengthen Minnesota's economy by advocating for, investing in, and connecting Black-owned businesses with the resources and opportunities they need to grow.”

We are Minnesota's premier business development and advocacy organization for Black entrepreneurs. Founded to close the gaps that have held Black business back—and determined to build the Minnesota economy that Black entrepreneurs deserve.

THE ECONOMIC CASE

BLACK BUSINESS IS MINNESOTA'S BUSINESS

When Black entrepreneurs grow, Minnesota's economy grows.

Black-owned businesses create jobs, build neighborhood wealth, strengthen supply chains, and generate the tax revenue that funds the services all Minnesotans depend on. Their success is not a niche issue. It is an economic imperative.

17 Fortune 500 companies call Minnesota home — and Black-owned businesses remain dramatically underrepresented in their supply chains.

Minnesota has one of the nation's most severe racial wealth gaps — and Black business ownership is one of the most powerful tools to close it.

Black-owned businesses in Minnesota employ Black workers at higher rates, invest in majority-Black neighborhoods, and create the kind of lasting community wealth that wages alone cannot build.
